History
Ten years have already gone by since three friends,
who were keen to present to the Lausanne and Vaud public an open,
sport-loving police force, with a mind for organisation, launched
the very first Lausanne Triathlon. That’s how a handful of
enthusiastic officers organised the first popular triathlon in September
1994.
In 1995 and 1996 the organising committee changed
the different courses in order to host in 1997 a Swiss championship
with more than 1'100 participants.
Lausanne organised its first Triathlon World
Championship in 1998 thus more than 3' 000 athletes swam in the
Lake Léman, caressed the feet of the cathedral by bike and
ran in the gardens of the IOC.
In 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002, Lausanne remained international since
it organised 4 World cup rounds.
And TOMORROW? Tomorrow we wil host a World
Championship in 2006.
